Uncommon Senses III: The Future of the Senses will be taking place May 1–4 2020 at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. Submissions are invited from scholars across the social sciences, humanities and arts interested in exploring the future of the senses in a changing world. KEY THEMES – Engaging the senses through design – Multiple modalities of multi- and intermedia – Coming to be of the sensor society – Rise of sensory politics, and – Sensory challenges of climate change Other themes include (but are not limited to): – Sense-based research methods (sensory ethnography, sensory cartography) – Multisensory education – Sensory alterity (including Critical Disability Studies) – The urban sensorium (including “smart” cities), and – Sentient ecologies
